Great News! Booking now for late Fall, Winter & Spring 2022/2023
Booking now for late Fall, Winter & Spring 2022/2023
After the long Covid 19 Pandemic shut down and recovering from a recent back surgery, I am restarting the BC Artifacts Mobile Museum tours very soon!
Please email me about what possible dates you would like your presentations and get them reserved starting in November 2022.
So, what are the “BC Artifacts Mobile Museum Tours” all about?
It is an authentic, engaging and very exciting program presented by Tony Hardie, descendant of the Secwepemc (Shuswap) people, of the Central Interior of British Columbia. The BC Artifacts Mobile Museum Tour started traveling to BC public and private schools in 2014 throughout the lower mainland. Personalized learning designed to enrich your students’ BC Aboriginal Studies Program. I can accommodate most grade levels and have three main areas of BC History included in my displays and presentations.
They include First Nation Indigenous Artifacts as well as Gold Rush and Fur Trade era artifacts.
How much does it cost?
The cost for the entire half day of presentations is $450.00 + GST. This includes two 1hr Presentations.
Full Day presentations is $600.00 + GST. This included up to 4 1hr presentations.
A discount is available for multiple days of presenting at schools.
There is currently a fuel surcharge of $25.00 per day visited or $1.00 per km return trip. (Whichever is amount greater)
To create a highly successful visit, there are a few organizational items to consider:
-Each presentation is 45min to 1hr long.
-Limit of two presentations per half day booking. Full day Bookings have a maximum of 4 presentations.
-A morning session is 9am – 12pm. Full day is 9am-3pm.
-For schools, presentations will be divided into two parts. The first part will be an interactive talk and power Point presentation followed by the second part where students will view the displays and have the opportunity to ask more questions.
-For community groups the presentation will be a 45-minute interactive talk (PowerPoint images will also be available). Depending on the size of the group, Q&A and the opportunity to handle the artifacts will occur during the presentation or time will be reserved at the end.
-For best results, school groups should try and limit the number of participants per presentation to a normal class size (approx. 30 students.) This allows for maximum hands-on learning and time for all the questions. This can be doubled to a Maximum of 60 students if space is available and cost savings is needed.
-If your school chooses multiple presentations, we will need to set-up in one central location and have groups rotate in to see it.
-Set-up takes approx. 45 minutes before the first presentation.
-4 or 5 tables will need to be provided in the presentation area, for the artifact displays.
-A 5–10-minute break between presentations is ideal but is not mandatory.
Behavioral Expectations: In order to have a smooth presentation, we remind instructors that a certified teacher “MUST” be in the classroom during the entire presentation. Teachers will be asked to help monitor the kids during the second half of the presentation. BC Artifacts Educators defer to the classroom teacher’s classroom management and behavior codes.
Photo Policy: Photographs are encouraged during presentations; however, we request that our presentations (and stations) not be videotaped. If sharing our display images on social media, please be sure to use the Hashtags #mobilemuseum and or #bcartifactsmobilemuseum.
